While Eleanor in the 2000 film appears in dark metallic gray, models of her have been made in other colors. Numerous models have been made of Eleanor. Halicki also retains ownership of the 1971/3 Eleanor Mustang from the original film. by Toby Halicki which used a Yellow Mach 1 Mustang called Eleanor. In 2008, Denice Shakarian Halicki, widow of HB Halicki, the director, producer, writer and star of the original 1974 Gone In 60 Seconds, won a court case against Carroll Shelby wherby it was ruled that Eleanor - in spite of being a car, and having been portrayed by two different vehicles - was a copyright character and that Halicki held this copyright. This car was created by Chip Foose and Steve Stansford both legendary car designers. A British collector brought it to Europe some time before 2012. This particular Eleanor has traveled far and wide over the last 20 years. Out of all the vehicles on their lists, Eleanor proves the most difficult to steal, causing numerous problems for the thieves and initiating spectacular car chases. Cinema Vehicle Services, the company responsible for producing the Mustangs, worked with legendary automotive designers Steve Sanford and Chip Foose on the design, which explains why they look so great. In both films, car thieves target a number of exotic cars which they give girls' names to as codenames. Arguably the finest Eleanor Mustangs were coming out of a little shop in Farmer’s Branch, Texas called Unique Performance, and they quickly struck a deal with both Carroll Shelby and Chip Foose to become, essentially, the modern-day equivalent of Shelby-American circa 1967.
